Langtang and Gosaikunda – Scenic Lakes and Cultural Journey

The Langtang, Gosaikunda, and Helambu Trek is a fully supported teahouse-based adventure that takes you to the stunning alpine lakes of Gosaikunda Lake in the beautiful Helambu region. Located just a day’s drive from Kathmandu, this region is relatively less crowded and offers a peaceful trekking experience in the Himalayas.

This area is mainly inhabited by the Tamang and Helambu Sherpa communities, whose origins trace back to Tibet. Their rich culture, traditional lifestyle, and warm hospitality provide trekkers with a unique cultural experience throughout the journey.

A major highlight of this trek is a visit to Kyanjin Gompa (3,800m), a beautiful Buddhist monastery set beneath dramatic snow-capped peaks. From Kyanjin, the trail crosses several high passes, offering breathtaking views as you continue toward the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda.

This trek provides an excellent opportunity to experience authentic village life amidst serene alpine wilderness. Along the route, you will enjoy spectacular views of towering Himalayan peaks such as Langtang Lirung (7,225m) and Ganesh Himal (7,446m), along with a panorama of numerous snow-covered peaks rising above 6,000 meters.

Combining natural beauty, spiritual significance, and rich cultural encounters, this trek offers breathtaking mountain scenery, inspiring high-altitude lakes, and meaningful interactions with local communities—all within a quieter and less crowded trekking region of Nepal.

Day 1 :

Our guide will welcome you at Kathmandu airport (1345meters)and transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu . Overnight at hotel.

From Lama hotel, we begin the trek with a breakfast. We walk through the thick rhododendron forest. The peaceful trail is excellent. Then we leave the forest behind and enter into the Langtang valley through Ghoda Tabela. Langtang Lirung entices us on the northern part. Passing through the cattle grazing meadows, we begin to trek from langtang to Kyanjin. We get the surprising views of the Buddhist prayer flags that flutter around. Crossing some wooden bridges, we reach to Kyanjin village, which is famous for its monastery that lie in the village. Overnight at lodge.

Excursion to Tserko Ri Peak (4993m) and over night at Kyangching Gompa

Today’s trek begins from Lama Hotel (2,450m), descending through dense forests of rhododendron, bamboo, and pine along the banks of the Langtang River. The trail gradually winds downhill, offering a refreshing walk surrounded by lush greenery and occasional wildlife sightings.After several hours of trekking, you reach Pairo and Bamboo, where the trail continues with a mix of gentle ascents and descents. Crossing suspension bridges and following scenic forest paths, the route eventually diverges toward Thulo Syabru.

The trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake is one of the most rewarding and scenic sections of the journey. Along the way, trekkers pass through scenic spots like Cholang Pati and Lauribina, which offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including peaks such as Langtang Lirung and surrounding snow-capped mountains.

  • Assistance in arranging rescue operations in case of complicated health conditions (funded by travel insurance) 
  • Medical kits, including an oximeter to monitor blood oxygen saturation levels in high altitudes 

Equipment and Extra: 

  • Use of a Snow View Trek’s Team down jacket and sleeping bag during the trek (If needed) 
  • One trekking duffel bag (70 L) per participant
