Annapurna I (8091 m) is the 10th-highest mountain in the world and the 8th highest mountain in Nepal. It is the highest summit of the four main Summits of the Annapurna Massif in north-central Nepal in the Gandaki Province. Its climb has been famous since 1950 when Maurice Herzog led a French expedition and ascended successfully on June 3rd. Since then, the Southern route to Mount Annapurna became the most appropriate route to experience the beauty of the massif itself.
The largest conservation area of Nepal protects the four summits of Mount Annapurna and its surrounding area within the 7629 square km, The Annapurna Conservation Area. Despite not being the easiest to ascend, the glorious view of the entire Mt. Annapurna summit, Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m), Mt. Nilgiri (6940 m), and Lamjung Himal (6983 m) will surely be worth your journey.
