Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days Overview

The Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek is a team adventure designed to help corporate groups improve leadership, teamwork, and communication while trekking to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 m.

Many organizations face challenges such as poor communication between departments, employee burnout, and teams that are not fully aligned. Traditional team-building activities, conference rooms, and resort gatherings provide only short-term results because they take place in comfortable environments.

The Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek offers a different experience. Over a 130-km journey through the Himalayas, team members face challenging weather, remote scenarios, and high altitude together. These real-world challenges develop strong communication skills, improve decision-making, and build trust.

Throughout the journey, your team works together while passing some of the most popular landmarks of the Khumbu region. The route offers opportunities to capture Mount Everest (8,849 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), and Thamserku (6,608 m). Teams also visit Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual centre of the Khumbu region, and interact with the Sherpa community, whose cooperation and respect teach important lessons about leadership and teamwork at work.

As mountaineer Jamling Tenzing Norgay wrote in his memoir, “It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” The trek reminds participants that personal growth and teamwork are built by overcoming challenges together.

Your Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek starts as soon as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. A representative from Snow View Trek will welcome you at the airport and transfer you by private vehicle to your hotel. After check-in and some time to relax, you will meet the lead expedition guide for a briefing about the trek, daily schedule, safety plan, and team expectations.

During the afternoon, every executive takes part in a gear inspection led by the expedition guide. Each item, from trekking boots and warm clothing to sleeping bags and down jackets, is checked to confirm it is suitable for high-altitude conditions. If anything is missing or does not meet the required standard, gear can be rented or purchased from trusted outdoor stores nearby. You will also receive a waterproof duffel bag and pack only your mountain equipment within the recommended 10 to 12 kg limit for the porter.

From the domestic section of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will take a thrilling 30 minutes flight to land at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. The Lukla flight, often considered the world’s most dangerous, provides access to the Everest region. The Lukla gateway offers an exciting start to the journey. Then you will meet the crew and begin the trek. Trek above the Dudh Koshi River trail and head further to Phakding. Potato and buckwheat fields dominate the trail today. We rest at Phakding. O/N at lodge.

During peak season, flights from Kathmandu to Lukla can be crowded. Alternatively, trekkers may drive 5-6 hours to Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, then take a 20-minute flight to Lukla. In such conditions, choosing the Lukla flight from Ramechhap may be preferable to departing from Kathmandu. After landing in Lukla, the trek to Phakding continues.

Namche Bazaar is the largest Sherpa town in the Khumbu region and the main centre for trekkers and climbers. The town has modern lodges, bakeries, cafés, restaurants, gear shops, and faster internet services.

In the evening, the team gathers in the heated lodge dining hall for a health check. The lead guide records the oxygen level of each participant with a pulse oximeter, reviews the day’s progress, and discusses the activities for the next day.

From the hotel, you can enjoy beautiful views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, and Taboche. After spending time at the viewpoint, the team returns to Namche for lunch and the afternoon programme.

Instead of spending the day in a regular teahouse, your corporate group gathers in a private meeting hall. Lunch and other meals are served beside the meeting space to keep the schedule comfortable. The meeting hall is fully arranged with chairs in a boardroom or U-shaped layout, allowing every participant to join discussions. The venue also includes a projector, projector screen, microphone, speakers, charging points for electronic devices, whiteboards, and markers to support presentations.

This session gives participants the opportunity to share ideas, review goals, and strengthen teamwork while surrounded by the mountains of the Everest region. After the event concludes, you can relax, explore the local streets of Namche Bazaar, or enjoy the evening at your lodge.

From the summit, you can also see the Khumbu Glacier and the Khumbu Icefall.

In the evening, everyone gathers in the warm dining hall for a premium dinner. The lead guide conducts a team review session, where the group celebrates the successful journey and shares experiences from the past two days.

How Does the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek Start and End?

The Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, followed by a hotel transfer, trek briefing, and team introduction. Depending on the season, the journey continues with a direct flight to Lukla or a drive to Ramechhap, followed by a flight to Lukla. From Lukla, your corporate team starts trekking through Phakding and Namche Bazaar. An additional day in Namche is reserved for acclimatisation, an optional hike to Hotel Everest View, and a corporate meeting with a projector, meeting hall, chairs, and other essential presentation facilities.

After Namche, the trek continues to Tengboche Monastery, Deboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep before reaching Everest Base Camp. The high-altitude trekking, shared challenges, and remote mountain conditions naturally encourage teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving.

Following the Everest Base Camp visit, the group hikes to Kala Patthar for sunrise before descending through Pheriche, Namche Bazaar, and Lukla. A flight returns the team to Kathmandu, where the programme concludes with a corporate event for presentations, project reviews, team recognition, or celebration. After completing both the Himalayan adventure and business sessions, participants transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for their onward journey with stronger professional relationships.

Best time to Trek Corporate Everest Base Camp

The best time for an Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek is during the autumn peak (October to November) or the spring peak (March to May). For high-profile corporate groups, October is the absolute best season. Look at the table below for clear timings:

Season Corporate Suitability Benefits for Corporate Teams Cons / Risks
Autumn (Oct – Nov) Top Choice
  • Cloud-free mountain views
  • Most stable weather and flight schedules
  • Lowest risk of corporate schedule disruptions
  • Trails and premium lodges are very busy
  • Bookings should be made 3–4 months in advance
Spring (Mar – May) Excellent Choice
  • Lively trails with Everest expeditions
  • Beautiful blooming rhododendrons
  • Mild daytime trekking temperatures
  • Afternoon clouds can block mountain views
  • Higher dust levels on the lower trails
Winter (Dec – Feb) Not Recommended
  • Quiet trails away from busy routes
  • Lowest luxury lodge rates
  • Sub-zero temperatures (down to -20°C at night)
  • Frozen water pipes and a higher risk of frostbite
Monsoon (Jun – Sept) Avoidable
  • Lush green surroundings and fewer crowds
  • Flight cancellations at Lukla Airport
  • High risk of landslides and soil erosion

How Challenging is the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek?

The Everest Base Camp trek is a moderate type of trek that requires proper planning, acclimatization, and coordination. Most of the trekkers complete the trek easily; however, it can be difficult for those without prior experience. But unlike an expedition, trekkers do not require any technical climbing to complete the Everest Base Camp trek. The main challenges of the EBC trek include its high altitude, long walking hours, and weather conditions.

  • Altitude: Trekkers reach the highest altitude of 5,364m at Everest Base Camp and 5,555m at Kalapatthar. Any trekking activity above 3,500m can pose the threat of altitude sickness. However, corporate members must acclimate properly to prevent the chances of altitude sickness.
  • Walking Hours: Each day of trekking requires around 5-7 hours of walking. Those who are not adequately fit or are not used to regular walks can find it difficult. But walking as a team at a natural pace, with prior training, can help overcome this challenge.
  • Weather conditions: Weather in the mountain region is unpredictable. Above Dingboche, the temperature reaches below freezing. Walking in such a cold climate may require some adaptability. So, proper clothing with layers is necessary for comfort.

Can a Beginner Trek to Everest Base Camp?

Yes, beginners can complete the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek if they have a basic fitness level and join a planned itinerary with experienced guides. This corporate itinerary includes two acclimatisation days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to help the body adjust to the high altitude before ascending further. Professional trekking guides monitor the group’s progress, while porters carry the main duffel bags.

A corporate trek is also well suited for first-time trekkers because the entire journey is professionally managed from arrival to departure. Flights, accommodation, meals, permits, and logistics are arranged in advance, allowing participants to focus on the experience rather than the planning. Daily pulse oximeter checks monitor oxygen saturation and identify altitude-related concerns at an early stage.

Food Options During the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek

Various delicacies are available during the 15-day Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek. Standard teahouses and lodges offer a wide range of cuisine while catering to individual needs. Although most of the food is nutritious and straightforward, the menu is diverse to accommodate all preferences.

  • Breakfast: Oat porridge, fried rice, plain toast, bread, eggs, pasta, pancake, chapati, cereals, Tibetan bread, milk porridge, peanut butter, French fries, mixed vegetables, and others.
  • Lunch: Dal Bhat, Yak Steak, soups, sandwiches, rice and curry, spring rolls, pizza, burger, Mo: Mo, sherpa stew, pasta, Tibetan bread, spaghetti, noodles, and others.
  • Dinner: Dal Bhat, Thukpa, Sherpa stew, soups, noodles, eggs, pizza, ramen, spring rolls, Chowmein, burgers, French fries, potatoes, chapatti, and others.
  • Drinks: Variety of tea, juice, americano, cappuccino, hot chocolate, soft drinks, and others.
  • Extra: Alcoholic beverages are also available throughout the trek, but not recommended during the trek as they cause dehydration, increasing the chances of altitude sickness.

Toilet and Bathroom Facilities During the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek

Toilet and bathroom facilities are available throughout the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek, but expectations change as you gain altitude. From Lukla to Dingboche, most premium teahouses provide Western-style flush toilets with attached or nearby bathrooms. Running water is available at many lodges, and hand-washing stations are common. Hot showers are also available at most stops for an additional fee, although the price increases with altitude because fuel must be transported into the mountains.

Above Dingboche, facilities become more basic due to the remote location. At Lobuche and Gorakshep, most lodges still offer Western-style toilets, though some accommodations use squat toilets depending on the property. Bathrooms are shared with other guests, and hot showers may be unavailable during busy trekking seasons. For corporate groups, Snow View Trek reserves quality accommodations whenever possible to provide better comfort and hygiene.

Internet and Wi-Fi Availability Along the Everest Base Camp Trail

Internet access is available throughout the Everest Base Camp route. Quality, speed, and reliability depend on altitude and location. Most teahouses and lodges offer paid Wi-Fi. The cost increases as you ascend. Internet access is limited in forested areas, mountain passes, and during bad weather.

Mobile data works fine in the lower regions. However, it is not entirely reliable above 4,000m. Do not seek good mobile data coverage above Lobuche.

  • Lukla: Good connectivity, usable for messages, light browsing, and even video calls.
  • Phakding: Fair connectivity; suitable for email, messaging, and light browsing.
  • Namche: Excellent connectivity; suitable for messaging, light browsing, and video calls.
  • Tengboche: Limited connectivity; suitable for simple browsing. Not dependable.
  • Dingboche: Decent connectivity; suitable for light internet usage, maybe messaging.
  • Gorakshep: No reliable Wi-Fi or mobile signal.

Permits and Documents Required for Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek

The Government of Nepal mandates two permits for trekking in the Everest Region: the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit and the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit.

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit

The permit was introduced in 2018 to support the local government and community of the Khumbu region. Trekkers can obtain the license in Lukla or Monjo. The permit is issued primarily to support the sustainable development of the Sherpa community. The Kumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit cost is NRs 2000 per person.

Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

A permit is required to enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trekkers can obtain the license from the Nepal Tourism Board Office in Kathmandu or from the entry checkpoint at Monjo. The permit is issued to fund conservation efforts for the National Park’s wildlife. The cost of the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit for foreigners is NRs 3000 per person.

For convenience, Snow View Trek’s representative can acquire the permit on your behalf.

Documents required to apply for a permit application

  • A valid Passport with photocopies, along with your permit application.
  • 2-4 copies of a recently clicked passport-size photo.

An Extra Day For Your Event in Namche Bazaar

Organizing a workshop, conference, or business event in Namche Bazaar during the EBC Corporate Trek is a special chance to combine professional growth with the breathtaking Himalayan scenery. Namche Bazaar, the Everest entry point, offers a beautiful backdrop for team-building and leadership exercises because of its modern facilities.

Organizing a business event at Namche Bazaar offers participants the opportunity to fully experience the rich Sherpa culture and its professional advantages. Following the day’s training and meetings, team members can go shopping in the neighborhood, check out the Sherpa Culture Museum, or go on short treks to see broad views of Everest and other towering peaks.

The business event’s overall effectiveness is increased as a result of this cultural immersion, which promotes a sense of unity and shared experience. Namche Bazaar is a fantastic location for any business event since it combines team building, professional growth, and cultural discovery. Participants leave feeling inspired and refreshed.

Detailed Information About Flying into Lukla

Direct flight from Kathmandu

Trekkers can catch a domestic flight from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport to Lukla. The flight will take about 30 minutes, taking you from Kathmandu to the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. The Lukla flight commences on a small aircraft, mainly a De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter or a Dornier 228. Snow View Trek arranges the Lukla flight ticket; however, delays may occur due to crowds or unfavorable weather.

Flying from Ramechhap/Manthali

If the Lukla flight from Kathmandu is delayed or cancelled due to overcrowding, you can opt for Ramechhap or Manthali. Our team will organize a private vehicle for a drive to Manthali, Ramechhap, which takes about four hours. Then, you will board the plane to Lukla. The baggage limit for the Lukla flight is 15 kg per person, split into a 10 kg duffel bag and 5 kg hand carry.

How to Prevent Altitude Sickness During the Corporate Everest Base Camp Trek?

Altitude sickness occurs when the body fails to adapt to the low oxygen levels at high altitude. Here are a few measures to help prevent altitude sickness:

  • Follow the itinerary with two acclimatisation days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche instead of ascending too quickly.
  • Monitor blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and heart rate with a pulse oximeter every morning.
  • Descend immediately if a team member develops AMS symptoms or has very low oxygen saturation.
  • Consult your doctor before the trek about taking Diamox (Acetazolamide) as a preventive medication if it is appropriate for your health.
  • Drink about 4 to 5 litres of fluids each day, including water, electrolyte drinks, and warm soups.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking until you have safely descended from high altitude, as both can worsen dehydration.
  • Eat high-carbohydrate meals such as dal bhat, rice, potatoes, and pasta to maintain energy levels.
  • Dress using a proper layering system with base, insulating, and outer shell layers to keep your body warm and reduce physical stress.

Tipping Suggestions for the Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek

Tipping is not mandatory on the Everest Base Camp Corporate Trek, but it is a long-standing custom in Nepal and an important part of the trekking crew’s income. Most corporate groups include a pooled tip from the company so that every guide and porter receives a fair share based on their role and contribution. As a general guideline, many groups allocate 10% to 15% of the total trek cost for gratuities, although the final amount depends on the group budget and level of satisfaction.

Porters are typically tipped in Lukla because they do not return to Kathmandu with the group. Trek leaders and guides are usually tipped during the farewell dinner or closing event in Kathmandu, where the company can also thank the team for their support throughout the expedition.
