Overview

The Kailash Mansarovar Tour is a deeply spiritual journey to one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the world, located in the remote Tibetan region.

Four main faiths regard the 6,638-meter Mount Kailash as sacred: Buddhism, Jainism, Bon, and Hinduism. Because of its spiritual significance and the belief that it is the home of Lord Shiva in Hinduism, the mountain is highly revered by devotees.

In addition to the mountain, the high-altitude freshwater lake known as Lake Mansarovar has great religious significance. It is said that taking a holy bath in its waters can atone for sins and promote spiritual renewal.

A 52-kilometer trek around Mount Kailash called the "parikrama" or "kora" is usually included in the itinerary. Because of the steep height and rough terrain, this hike is not only physically taxing but also spiritually uplifting because of the breathtaking views of the mountain and the surrounding areas.

This difficult route is taken by pilgrims and trekkers from all over the world who come to enjoy the peaceful and spiritual surroundings as well as to strengthen their faith.

Apart from its spiritual element, the journey offers a chance to discover Tibetan culture by passing through isolated villages in the Himalayas, seeing monasteries, and engaging with local populations.

The enchanted splendor of the surrounding landscape, which includes snow-capped peaks, immaculate valleys, and the azure waters of Lake Mansarovar, accentuates the enchanted charm of this once-over trip.

Best Season for Kailash Mansarovar Trek

The ideal times of year to undertake the overland tour of Kailash Mansarovar are late spring, summer, and early fall; the winter months do require more packing, gear, and equipment preparation.

Because of Tibet's location in the rain shadow region, which rarely experiences rainfall, the weather during the spring and autumn months of March to May and September to November is generally stable with clear visibility, mild temperature, and good trail conditions. The monsoon seasons of Nepal occur from July to August.

Comparably, if you want a flawless cross-cultural encounter, plan your vacation around one of the biggest Tibetan holidays, Saga Dawa, which falls in May or June and honors the life, teachings, and demise of Buddhism's founder, Buddha.

For this reason, when is the best time to do the Overland Kailash Mansarovar Tour? It depends a lot on what you want to see and do.
